On Tuesday, 24.11.2009, our dear colleague and friend – ROY RUSSELL – unexpectedly and sadly passed away.

Roy had been with our group of companies for the past 16 years (06.01.1994) and was responsible for the selling of the DECKEL MAHO GILDEMEISTER range of equipment.

Roy was passionate about life, sport and his work, especially the product “DMG” for which he was responsible.  He knew the product range like the back of his hand and found it difficult dealing with and selling anything unrelated to the “DMG” range of products.

In the last month, Roy concluded a huge project with AUTO INDUSTRIAL SPARTAN for the supply of 2 x DECKEL MAHO Machines – Model DMC 75 H duoBLOCK.  In addition to this, he had been successful in selling the stock DECKEL MAHO Machining Centre – Model DMC 1035 V eco.  He returned to the office on Monday afternoon, 23.11.2009, and rang the “Sales Bell” regarding this order.

Roy was a “NO NONSENSE” person and did everything according to the book.  His honesty, integrity and reliability were his special features.  His experience and knowledge in the machine tool industry will be difficult to replace.  He was also never too shy nor too selfish to share this knowledge with his fellow colleagues.

Roy will be truly missed by all and is a tremendous loss to our company and the industry.
